So I picked this up today.

Not the truck or my tonewood crew, the blue package IN the truck!

We unwrapped it and moved into the under construction shop and it looks like this:

I haven't had a real good look at the wood but it arrived well packaged and nearly mould free. There is a bit on the buttress pieces that I think I will hit with some dilute bleach tomorrow.

I need addresses and phone numbers PM'd to me for all of those who have ordered this wood. We are trying to catch up on spruce orders all of this week (I find myself a bit behind lately ) so I will be re-sawing the blackwood sets for those who ordered them next week. Once I have addresses I will get this wood moving out to you. I have all of the costs and it is indeed $6 US per board foot for all of the entry fees. It did arrive duty free. So you will each need to pay actual shipping costs plus $2 for packaging plus $6 per board foot for the fees. I will let everyone know the total as I get your billets sent out to you. If you ordered sets the entry fees are included in the price of the sets that I sent to you early and that you already paid. So sets will be just the actual shipping costs plus the $2 package charge.

Thanks Tim for getting this stuff out to everyone!

Shane

Looking at the heavy duty packaging and miles of duct tape I'd say that must be from Tim!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tempted to buy some...PLEASE tell me that you don't allow shipping worldwide, and I'll be happy. Also tell me it's as challenging as working with ebony, and that will soothe the temptation....

Hey Sam,

If you only want just a set or two of Tassi Blackwood at sometime, just contact Tim Spittle of Australian Tonewoods direct. He is a sponsor here at the OLF so let him know that you are a forum member and I am sure he will see you right, he is a good luthier and a great guy to deal with and he has some truly unique wood.

A link to his site is listed with the other OLF sponsors above.

Cheers

Kim
